Dave & Doug's Mom and brothers, Don & Dan
In 1990, Dave & Doug Meadows (the owners of our store) lost their mother to cancer. This contest is to honor her and for students to honor their mothers—to express their love and appreciation through a writing exercise. We offer this contest to students in grades 1st through 6th. Last year we had over 13,000 entries, and we look forward to your participation this year.

Every year David Douglas Diamonds & Jewelry sponsors a writing contest in our local schools. The kids are asked to write an essay about their mom. Three deserving students win a 1/4 Carat diamond, and a gemstone winner is chosen from every classroom that participates.
I am inviting other Jewelers to participate in this exciting event. We are here to help, if you would like to participate please contact Doug Meadows and will will give you everything you need free of charge to help you begin Honoring Mom's in your community
